Don't judge....

Fall brings beautiful colours, crisp clear mornings and the beginning of the holiday season, Thanksgiving.   A time of year where an individual is encouraged to think about all the things they are thankful for.  Traditionally when asked what they are truly thankful for, one answers with the usual: loving family, great friendships, true happiness, good health, freedom and good fortune.

Of course it would be silly for me to say that I wasn't thankful for those things as well.   I truly am grateful and feel very lucky to have great friends, a beautiful, healthy, happy family and everything I need to live my best life.  But if I am being real, the stuff that, at this moment, I am really grateful for includes a list of things that could be considered much more...well there is no nice way to say it ...shallow.  So here are just a few of the things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for my PVR, Netflix, honey flavoured greek yogurt, the school cafeteria, the nights in which my children stay in their own bed and the days that my husband cleans up his breakfast dishes before he leaves for work.   I am thankful that I get to go to a job that I feel fulfilled at every day but I am even more grateful that I get fantastic holidays throughout the year.  I am thankful for Mega mind, who cleans my floors and bathroom every other week. I am thankful I can finally do a workout consisting of double unders without looking like a scene out of 50 Shades of Grey.  Heck, I am thankful for 50 Shades of Grey! I am thankful for a husband who does not hold, the whole bat shit crazy thing I go through once a month, against me.  I am also thankful that my children have short memories and big hearts and seem to forget the one hundred time outs they have received before kissing me good night.   I am thankful for chips, beer and wings on a Friday night and friends that I can rant and rave to about how I just can't take it anymore while they pour me another glass of wine.  And right this very moment I am thankful that I had a few quiet minutes that I could actually blog without any interruptions (thanks Netflix).
